The 5th Annual Fishing for Kids Tournament at the West Coast Fishing Club is being held August 28th – September 1, 2010. This unique, fundraising adventure has raised more than $1.8 million for BC’s special kids and organizers are confident that the $2 million dollar mark will be surpassed this year. Funds are distributed to two great BC charities, The Children’s Hospital and the Canucks Autism Network.

On August 28th, forty-two anglers head to one of West Coast Fishing Club’s premier fishing destinations. It is here among the breathtaking beauty of Haida Gwaii that fishermen drop their lines and compete for over $150,000 in prizes. In the true spirit of the Tournament, 100% of this purse is donated back into the fundraising
pool. Among the guests are Vancouver Canucks owner Paolo Aquilini, GM Mike Gillis, and returning participants NHL defenseman Willie Mitchell and culinary superstar David Hawksworth. Go fishermen and fisherwomen!

Looking for a indoor activity. Why not head down to Fifth Avenue Cinemas to watch Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist, and Rebel which opens on August 27th.

A biographical film taking an intimate look at the outspoken, flamboyant founder of the Playboy empire.

When Hefner launched Playboy magazine in 1953, he became a champion of the sexual revolution. Unfortunately, the church and state were offended by his liberal ideas and initiated a war against Hugh that would go on for decades. Hefner has always been known as a hedonistic
playboy, whose main focus has been lots of women and sexual encounters. However, the other side of Hugh, unknown to most has been an individual who fought to become a groundbreaking advocate and catalyst for civil rights, the First Amendment, and human rights.

With humour and insight, the film captures Hefner's fierce battles with the government, the religious right, and militant feminists. Compelling interviews with some of most prominent people throughout the decades gives a brilliant and entertaining snapshot of the life of
an extraordinary man and the controversies that surrounded him.

Starting in May of 2011, from North America to Australia, the World Run will cross three continents, fourteen countries, and is expected to take more than two years to complete.

With an anxiety disorder himself, his journey and desire to achieve his dreams, the people that he has met along the way, and the millions more people that are affected by mental illness worldwide have inspired Wayne to challenge the image and understanding surrounding these disorders.
